Scott Voris oversees the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of Kelmscott Communications. Under Scott’s leadership, Kelmscott has experienced significant growth in large part through its development of customized and measureable direct-marketing solutions for our clients.

 
Jerry Heitschmidt
Executive Vice President and Educational Recruitment Manager, KelmscottEDU

Jerry brings more than 30 years of experience as a marketing services provider to the higher education industry. He has been pivotal to the development and implementation of KelmscottEDU's strategic marketing solutions for admissions and enrollment management. Jerry has successfully brought more than 300 targeted student search campaigns to market, while his aptitude for strategy, along with the execution of targeted print and digital cross-media campaigns, has established him as a leader in the industry. Other areas of expertise include list management, data analytics, and custom software development.

Throughout his career, Jerry has focused on testing the markets using the latest technology. Some examples include the use of cross-media analytics and targeted segmentation in student recruitment, the creation and implementation of the KelmscottEDU Dashboard, the development of a student application for admission modeling, and many others.

Jerry is actively involved in the community as well. As an ordained Roman Catholic deacon he serves the Diocese of San Diego, while as a District Staff Officer for Aviation in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, he serves his country. His service has been recognized by the United States Department of Homeland Security as well as the United States Coast Guard through multiple Commandant Letters of Commendation and Presidential Unit Citation Awards.

Kathleen Cross, Ph.D.
Executive Vice President, Strategy and Marketing

Kathleen is a veteran enrollment manager and brings a broad range of higher education experience to our university partners. Using a data-driven approach, she leads our strategy efforts, handling everything from search strategy development, market/institutional data analysis, and strategic messaging/marketing. With experience working in both U.S. and international universities, Kathleen is a former Vice President of Enrollment, Chief Technology Officer, and Dean of Studies Abroad.

Kathleen holds a doctoral degree in Higher Education Administration and is an adjunct professor of Higher Education Administration at Bay Path University. She is a frequent national speaker and published author.

She provides 15+ years of diverse higher education experience including: enrollment management, information technology, student success, international program development, study abroad, engaged learning, institutional research, residence life, and research administration.

Kathleen offers additional experience in corporate and health-care organizations. She has worked as a speech-language pathologist, serving mono- and multilingual populations, and is the former director and part owner of a successful medical device/technology company. Having lived in several countries, she is fluent or proficient in multiple languages.

Kathleen is also a former KelmscottEDU client who says, "I liked KelmscottEDU so much, I decided I wanted to work here!"

 
Kent Kleiva
Enrollment Consultant

Kent Kleiva brings to Kelmscott Communications more than 20 years of experience in higher education and software technology. Working for such organizations as SPSS, SCT, Monster.com and the College Board, he has provided technology solutions to institutions seeking to use business intelligence, CRM or analytical software for the Enrollment Management environment. While at SPSS, he was the executive in charge of SPSS’s North American Higher Education business unit.

His client relationships have included such institutions as DePaul University, St. Louis University, Delgado Community College, Upper Iowa University, the University of Oregon, DeVry, and American Public University.

Kent’s positions have given him a wealth of experience in developing strategic business plans, directing high-performing sales teams, and managing product development operation teams. His background in higher education software technology provides Kelmscott clients’ practical insights into what technology solutions can be strategic or tactical. As a business development professional in the higher education market, Kent understands the uniqueness of each institution and the diverse organizational needs that can push or pull institutions toward new enrollment programs.

Kent has a Master’s degree in College Student Personnel Services from Western Illinois University, and has done Doctoral work in Instructional Technology at Northern Illinois University. In May 2012 he completed his first half marathon in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
